Fine Jewelry, Designer Jewelry & Watch Consignment

Premier Jewelry & Timepiece Consignment Services

Devine & Co. provides specialized consignment representation for select fine jewelry, rare gemstones, signed and designer pieces, one-of-a-kind jewelry, and fine timepieces.

Work directly with Shelly Devine for professional evaluation, market positioning, photography, listing strategy, buyer communication, negotiation, and final payout.

Consignment is selective and intended for pieces with meaningful resale, collector, designer, or specialty-market appeal. Other jewelry, including many unsigned or primarily gold-value pieces, may be more appropriately evaluated for direct purchase or precious-metal liquidation.

Consignment Eligibility

Devine & Co. offers selective consignment services for jewelry and timepieces with strong secondary-market or collector appeal.

Items considered for consignment generally include signed or designer jewelry, one-of-a-kind or exceptional jewelry, rare or important gemstones, and fine timepieces.

Unsigned, mass-produced, or primarily gold-value jewelry may not be appropriate for consignment. These pieces are generally evaluated based on their precious metal, gemstone, or liquidation value and may be better suited for direct purchase or scrap.

All items are reviewed individually. Acceptance for consignment is at the discretion of Devine & Co. and is based on desirability, condition, provenance, market demand, anticipated resale value, and the appropriate selling platform.

01

Is Consignment Right for My Jewelry?

Consignment may be a strong option for signed or designer jewelry, one-of-a-kind pieces, rare gemstones, fine timepieces, and other jewelry with a specialized or established resale market.

Not every piece of jewelry benefits from consignment. Many unsigned, mass-produced, broken, outdated, or primarily gold-value items are more appropriately evaluated for direct purchase or precious-metal liquidation.

Devine & Co. will help determine which selling method is most appropriate based on the individual item and current market.

02

How Is My Jewelry Priced?

Pricing is based on condition, brand, materials, market demand, comparable sales, and the best sales channel for your item.

03

How Does the Process Work?

Devine & Co. manages evaluation, photography, descriptions, listing, buyer inquiries, offer review, negotiation, and payment processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how Devine & Co.’s selective jewelry consignment process works, including eligibility, selling options, payout timing, taxes, and what to expect when consigning designer jewelry, exceptional pieces, rare gemstones, or fine timepieces.

What types of jewelry are considered for consignment?

Devine & Co. primarily considers signed or designer jewelry, one-of-a-kind or exceptional pieces, rare or important gemstones, and fine timepieces with meaningful secondary-market or collector appeal.

Every item is evaluated individually. Acceptance is based on condition, provenance, desirability, market demand, anticipated resale value, and the appropriate selling platform.

What if my jewelry is not appropriate for consignment?

Many unsigned, mass-produced, broken, outdated, or primarily gold-value pieces are better suited for direct purchase or precious-metal liquidation.

Devine & Co. can help determine the most appropriate selling option after evaluating the individual item.

What is the difference between consignment and liquidation?

Consignment is generally intended for qualifying pieces with meaningful resale, designer, collector, or specialty-market appeal. The goal is to find the appropriate buyer based on current market demand. This route may take longer, but it can offer a stronger return for the right item.

Liquidation is typically faster and may involve an outright purchase, precious-metal value, gemstone value, or scrap-value offer. This option may be more appropriate for pieces that do not have a strong secondary resale market.

Who is responsible for taxes when selling jewelry on consignment?

Tax responsibility depends on your individual situation, whether the jewelry is being sold personally or as part of a business, and whether the item sells for more than your original cost basis.

Devine & Co. does not provide tax advice. Clients should consult a qualified tax professional about reporting requirements, capital gains, deductions, or any sale-related tax questions.

Will I receive a tax form from eBay or another selling platform?

Tax forms may depend on the selling platform, sale activity, account structure, and current reporting rules. If a platform issues tax documentation, it may be sent to the account holder used for the transaction.

For questions about whether you personally need to report a sale, speak with a qualified tax professional.

Do I need to report my jewelry sale on my taxes?

Some jewelry sales may not create taxable income, while others may require reporting if the item sells for more than your basis or is sold as part of business activity.

Because every situation is different, Devine & Co. recommends reviewing your sale details with a qualified tax advisor.

How long does an accepted consignment item take to sell?

Timing depends on the item type, condition, brand or maker, provenance, documentation, price point, buyer demand, and selling platform.

Some pieces may sell quickly, while rare, high-value, collectible, or highly specific pieces may require more time to reach the appropriate buyer.

How is my consignment payout calculated?

Your estimated payout may be affected by the final selling price, selling platform fees, Devine & Co.’s consignment commission, shipping, insurance, buyer negotiation, and any agreed-upon sale terms.

The in-pocket payout estimator on this page is for planning only. Final payouts may vary.

Can Devine & Co. provide tax advice?

No. Devine & Co. can explain the jewelry consignment process, selling timeline, payout structure, and documentation involved, but cannot provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.

For tax-specific guidance, please consult a qualified tax professional.
