About the Jewelers of America 20 Under 40
The Jewelers of America 20 Under 40 program recognizes exceptional professionals under the age of 40 who are making a significant impact in the jewelry industry. Honorees are selected through a nomination and judging process, highlighting both retailers and suppliers across the United States.
This program celebrates leadership, integrity, innovation, and a forward-thinking approach to the jewelry business—qualities that are shaping the next generation of the industry.
My Journey in the Jewelry Industry
My career in the jewelry industry began in 2003, and over the years I have focused on building a strong foundation in both gemological expertise and client-centered service.
I am a GIA Graduate Gemologist, Certified Master Appraiser (NAJA), Registered Master Valuer (RMV), and Accredited Senior Gemologist (AGA), and a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers.
My background includes a five-year appraisal apprenticeship in Seattle and over a decade managing a high-end jewelry store in Carmel-by-the-Sea. These experiences shaped the way I approach jewelry today—with precision, integrity, and a deep respect for both craftsmanship and value.

Today, I operate Devine & Co. Private Jeweler, a private, appointment-only jewelry office in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. My business is designed to offer a more personalized alternative to traditional jewelry stores.
Clients meet with me one-on-one in a secure, relaxed environment where they can ask questions, explore options, and make informed decisions without pressure.
Services include:
- Jewelry appraisals (insurance, estate, and fair market value)
- Custom jewelry design and engagement rings
- Diamond and gemstone sourcing
- Estate jewelry evaluation and guidance
- Jewelry consultations and buying advice
- Assistance with selling or repurposing jewelry
I also work as a consulting gemologist, assisting with complex insurance claims and valuations throughout the United States.
